To bring his house in order, Misra implemented an enterprisewide data warehouse. The project integrated 10 source systems thereby facilitating unified reporting and MIS. The data warehouse acts as a source for downstream point solutions including the bank's reporting system, anti-money laundering system, customer relationship management system, and risk management solutions. The effort has saved over 1.2 lakh man-days of effort a year just in compiling reports, given that PNB has over 370 pre-structured reports. In monetary terms, that is equivalent to about Rs 12 crore a year. It has also saved the bank about Rs 6 crore a year in postage as reports no longer have to be posted to circle or head offices. The project has plugged revenue leaks in PNB's system which Misra conservatively estimates in the range of Rs 10 crore.
