The three important mandates centered around secure operations covering centralized security monitoring of network operations and post-breach network forensics. Equipment security that looks at the hardening of telecom nodes before deployment as also the detection of vulnerabilities. And, finally, risk assessment, which pertained to the holistic assessment of security and operational risks and their mitigation. To meet the new mandates without imposing crippling costs on the business Rout extended existing IT security platforms like vulnerability assessment platform, SIEM, AAA infrastructure and network IPS; thereby providing a truly centralized and integrated security operations center which provided a 360-degree security view of Uninor's entire enterprise. On the process side, the entire gamut of IT health management, change and exception management, and security metrics were leveraged to provide security cover to telecom network operations.
