Johnny Paramian

Group CIO,GMR

" The project reduced costs, thanks to economies of scale including license, security, and BCP. "

So, Paramian undertook an ERP consolidation project across the group. But that wasn't going to be easy. "The process of consolidation was like a 'beating heart surgery'. The existing SAP instance had to run without interruption while the consolidation process was on,"says Paramian. But he pulled it off. The project resulted in process standardization, and reduced cost due to economies of scale—license, security, support solution and BCP. The consolidation provides a single face of the group to the external customers once the internal shared service is established. It also reduced the number of servers used in both the primary and secondary datacenters located in two additional sites. Ultimately, the initiative resulted in the effective use of hardware and human resources.
