" Our aim is to provide anywhere, anytime services to customers and increase the company's cost-effectiveness. "
The objectives for the CBS are to provide ubiquitous services to customers and enhance convenience, and to also offer better control and cost-effectiveness to the company. In the first phase, transaction processing and back-office functionalities are addressed to allow branches to make transfers quickly. The second phase addresses BI, CRM, and MIS requirements. The risk of fraudulent customers is controlled effectively by using biometric integration. The software has to be scaled up to 10,000 branches providing a response time of three seconds. Oracle RAC has been implemented on Intel-based servers instead of higher-end servers. The mission-critical CBS needs high availability. A Tier-III datacenter will play host to the servers and systems. The entire management of the system is done remotely. This arrangement has saved substantial costs and has increased flexibility.
