As L&The company began facing lack of scalability in terms of rolling out branches, inconsistent user experience, steep learning curves, decreasing operational agility, and increasing process and functional turnaround time. To address these issues and more, Krishnan and his team embarked on a centralization project. The fundamental theme of the project was to impact two key processes. First, support and facilitate loan document handling and processing with an electronic data repository, and second, improve post-dated check management. A business process management solution was implemented for loan origination and management and a PDC factory to manage checks was established. The project has helped rapidly roll out branches, deliver uniform user experience with lower training needs, and increase operational agility. Process automation through workflow has also improved the visibility of turnaround time with respect to each sub-process in a client acquisition cycle.
