Thin provisioning has resulted in a 30 percent decrease in utilization of storage space, while the provisioning time for servers has reduced from three to four months to less than 24 hours. The average CPU and memory utilization has moved shot up by 80 percent. Syntel accrued savings of around Rs 1 crore from not buying 60 additional servers over the last year. Syntel aims to implement its own private cloud leveraging this platform.
