They know which cases are assigned to them, where information can be collected, when to start preparing for a case, and the number of cases in which they are likely to miss their service level agreements. The project that enabled this is a Rating Ops Workflow (ROW). Built on Open Source and Oracle, it enables CRISIL to achieve six sigma adherence to regulatory requirements at all stages of work, and generates real-time data for business analytics. ROW's flow mirrors the entire rating process. It ensures that steps are not enabled unless preceding steps have been completed. At each stage, compliance requirements are in-built and hence the possibility of non-compliance does not arise. Plus, the real-time availability of data at the company's disaster recovery site helps eliminate the risk of lost data.
