" This project has set a new benchmark in managing trucking operations. "

Safexpress, like almost all Indian logistic companies, doesn'Instead the company works with vendors who own lorries. Safexpress has over 3,000 lorries on hire and each is paid on a per-trip basis. This meant that about 2,400 paper documents called 'lorry hire' challans had to be processed, and over 800 checks had to be double-signed and handed out everyday. To make matters worse, accounts were managed in a decentralized manner, making them almost impossible to audit. Raizada centralized the accounting process from 208 city offices to one back office. He introduced an electronic route performance sheet process across all points of presence. This helped standardize and centralize online accounting. Vendors now receive their payments instantaneously due to electronic fund transfers. And it ensures that the system saves the printing of 9 lakh pages, and 3 lakh checks a year. Moreover, the processing time for 800 documents has been cut from 624 to 3 hours.
