" This project significantly impacted our organization in terms of improvements in actual consumer sales. "
When a customer walks into an ITC Lifestyle store, selects a shirt, but is then told that it's not available in a shade or size the customer wants, it'Sarkar's initiative aimed at turning those lost opportunities into business numbers. He designed a project that gives business stock visibility across the supply chain and replenishes shelves—according to actual consumer sales. Sarkar modified ITC Lifestyle's existing system to auto-update daily invoice information with customer data. Employees were then trained to upload these. Finally, back-end software would process these files and produce business intelligence. The system is accessible to all sales agents and managers, enabling them to take business decisions based on consumer-sales data as opposed to wholesale data. Finally, an algorithm suggests which garment should be sent to which outlet from which warehouse. The next time a customer walks into a store to buy a John Player shirt, he won't be disappointed.
