In response to business expansion, Mehta re-architected the company's datacenter and built a Tier-III datacenter which has the capacity to host existing servers and any more the company adds over the next five years. Right from vendor selection to the implementation, Mehta followed the concept of 'energy logic'. The logic states that every watt saved at the server level reduces 2.8 W of total consumption. The philosophy encompasses a 10-step process with incremental power savings. The selection of servers, the use of virtualization, and even the choice of air conditioners and lighting was done keeping this logic in mind. Mehta introduce digital scroll compressor technology to cool the datacenter, which can sense the load inside a server room and intelligently change the delivery of cool air. The new datacenter delivers higher uptime and better security. With reduced opex, Mehta expects this project to earn ROI in 1.8 years.
