With 19 aircrafts flying to 18 destinations across the country, SpiceJet falls squarely into that category. The company needed to analyze financial data fast enough to make timely business decisions while handling a range of disparate systems. Pal knew that the answer lay in consolidation. The company had specialized aircraft systems from different providers, like airline resource management system, airline engineering application, etcetera. These systems contain cost and revenue data. He integrated them with SAP and created an in-house BI solution that helped SpiceJet make quick decision around route profitability and capacity planning. "We decided to go a step ahead and consolidate the available data from silos in different systems. The data can now be used across various functions,"says Pal. The project brought in financial transparency and the capability to react to market dynamics faster.
